Escobar Injury Shocker!
"I'm just being cautious. I'm not concerned about it."
(Alex Escobar, via Nationals.com, 3/7/2007)
Poor Alex: Today, his quad. Tomorrow, his pinky toe.
Escobar takes a seat (tightness in his quad).
- His "official" injury count since arriving with the Nationals in 2005 is 4, but for some reason it seems like a lot more than that.
- That's him (above) going deep for Navegantes del Magallanes of the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional (LVBP) -- in 2005 (?). Looks like he might have pulled a hammy there rounding third.
- On an unrelated note...sounds like it was another nice outing for Shawn Hill yesterday...it's not going so great down in Viera for a bunch of the rotation candidates, but let's give it another few weeks before assessing the true suckiness of the situation. But anything is still better than last year's rotation, right?

Damn it. Every Spring something like this comes out of nowhere. There goes the playoffs.

Yeah and to think that just the other day I was saying something about endorsing AE as the official centerfielder of the Nationals Enquirer. Damn. I'm still holding out hope, though...
