So THAT must be what it feels like to get simultaneously puked on and tasered in Philadelphia. By our count, the Nats got swept over the weekend. Despite what the box score says, we just can't count Saturday night in the win column, sandwiched between losses Friday and Sunday.
Of course, the word the day after was that Strasburg played catch before heading back to D.C. for his MRI, he felt the same kind of pain in college and pitched through it, which could all be taken as good news.
Nothing official on the shutdown front yet, it's a matter of waiting for the Nationals to look at the MRI results and decide from there. In this morning's Washington Post, Thomas Boswell argues for the Nationals to just shut down Strasburg for the year immediately, and utters the names John Patterson and Shawn Hill for further "kick-me-in-the-nuts" effect.
Regardless of what the Nats decide to do with Strasburg for the rest of the season, the only guarantee seems to be that every single Strasburg start going forward -- until who knows when? -- will be met with trepidation in NatsTown. Hopefully the next chance comes Thursday, when Bryce Harper gets introduced at Nationals Park.
