(Ex-National Lastings Milledge says he hates his former team, but doesn't care about Strasburg.)
Everyone from Ben Bernanke to Alan Greenspan to Bob Costas has something to say about Stephen Strasburg on this fine Strasmas Day. How about old friend Lastings Milledge? The former Washington National chimed in on the spirit of Strasmas in this morning's papers in Pittsburgh. In short, Milledge doesn't believe in Strasburg Claus:
"We expect it to be electric. Are we expecting it to be different than anything else? No. We face good pitchers all across the league. We know he's going to bring it, but he's got nine tough guys to get out."
(Lastings Milledge, via Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 6/8/2010)"I really don't care. I'm not a National anymore. I'm a Pirate. I just know I hate going against them. That's what I look forward to do."
(Lastings Milledge, via Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 6/8/2010)
Comments like that will get you a lump of coal in your stocking. Baseball Jesus will just have to make Milledge a believer.

O! How sweet it was to watch Lastings Milledge strikeout like a little gurl.
I still hate him for throwing out Willingham at the plate. He never showed an arm like that when he wore the Curly W, that piece of [Mike Scioscia].

I don't know, Bote Man. I'm still trying to figure out what all the boos were for last night for Milledge. It's not his fault Manny Acta set him up to fail by making him a centerfielder AND leadoff hitter.
But since when did he acquire an accurate arm? Give him credit for making a perfect throw to nail Hammer at the plate.

And one more thing -- if you heard his postgame comments, he sounded generally humbled by Strasburg. Another convert!
