"Freakish things are happening. That's where we are. And you know what? Let's get it out of the way this year. All these crazy things that have happened. We're due for a little better stuff in that area next year."

"It's the most frustrated, I think, I've ever been in my life. I know everybody keeps saying we're not as bad as this or that. But we're not winning. I don't know what you can point your finger to. I don't have an answer."

The good news: 8 games to go.
Braves 11, Nats 5: Loss #102 featured many of the same elements as almost every other home loss this season, including, but not limited to: Shoddy defense. Missing offense. Bad starting pitching. Rain. Late-inning bullpen meltdown. More rain.
3 more errors by the Rigglemen today, but don't blame the effort, okay? "If I see lack of effort, I'll address it," says Mr. Riggleman.
Sure would've been nice to win a couple against the Braves this weekend to put a dent into Atlanta's Wild Card hopes. Oh well, there's always next weekend.
Tommy Hanson is no slouch.
This is where we should insert a Mike Morse pun, but we'll pass; thank you very much.
Meanwhile...

Guz, Burnett, likely done for the season. Zim banged up.
-
Stan Kasten, as optimistic as always.

Who are these people that are saying that they're not that bad that Dunn is referring to? I don't hear anyone saying that. I hear ridicule from the national media, I hear fans of other teams that come to Nats Park laughing at them, and I hear nothing but EXCUSES from the team (it's the lights, it's a bad bounce, it's this, it's that). Enough with excuses. Get some ballplayers in there that want to play.

Can we run Stan Kasten out of town on the rail? Enough with this valet of the Lerners.
