"I think it's like a good buzz. All buzz is good buzz, in my eyes. I'm still the same person. It doesn't change me. This year is just one of those years, you know? Things just happen for a reason. It's just going to make me a better player and a better person, too."

Just so we're clear: nothing that has happened to Nyjer Morgan this season will change Nyjer Morgan, but it will make Nyjer Morgan a better player and better person? Isn't that change?
Adam Kilgore had a bunch of quotes from Nyjer Morgan from the Nationals clubhouse on Monday, including the aforementioned "All buzz is a good buzz"whopper, and non-change-change stuff. We'll give him credit: Nyjer Morgan has been keeping a lower profile since taking the title of Baseball's #1 Heel last week, and didn't play horribly over the Labor Day weekend. But some of his comments in yesterday's papers make it seem like the guy is just missing the point in the wake of all that good buzz from the past few weeks.
One line in particular Morgan that didn't make it into Kilgore's Nationals Journal post for some reason, jumped off the page on New York Times online. Buried at the end of a NY Times gamer by Mark Viera, there's this:
"All buzz is a good buzz. The Washington Nationals are getting on the map."
(Nyjer Morgan, via New York Times, 9/6/2010)
Really, Nyjer? You might want to ask Stan Kasten about that. The Nationals have been trying to get off THAT map for years.
